scentsor combination of scents to achieve specific purposes may not be apparent in the
modern (perfume) designer's work. The more modern criteria of olafactory gratification and
salability have taken a more prominent role." Name that PerfumePerhaps it seems a little pretentious to name your own blend but just think about. You poured your heart into coming up with perfect ingredients. You are one of the few people in the entire world, most of the others being celebrities, millionaires, or royalty, who has her own personal perfume. And yours is better because theirs is likely full of synthetics instead of your precious pure essential oils toiled from the earth by dedicated organic farmers and alchemical distillers. I mean you probably know some guy who named his boat. You name your child--so why not live a little and name your own (perfume) creation! Besides, when people walk up to you and say "What is that your wearing, it's divine!" Won't it be cooler to say "oh, it's 'Diva,' a perfume I made for myself from the purest organic ingredients." Most perfumers name their first perfume after themselves, their mother, or the most favorite person, or maybe a place that reminds them of their perfume. One of the most creative natural perfumers I know, Christine Malcomb, developed a series of scents called "Therarome Systems" and each scent perfectly captures places she visited. I have a book that describes about 1,200 commercial perfumes. To help give you some idea's I picked out a few of my favorite names:
