Neroli is a classic essential oil fragrance, sweet, light orange but more flowery and intoxicating, and totally delightful. It also has a bitter note, which is grounding.
Neroli is extracted from the fragrant flowers of the bitter orange tree. (Pettigrain essential oil is extracted from the bitter orange’s leaves and twigs.) Neroli is thought to have been named after Anna Maria de la Tremoille, Princess of Neroli (near Rome), who in the 17th century introduced the oil to Italian society. She used the oil wherever she could — on her gloves, stationery, and scarves. Neroli is also a key ingredient to Eau de Cologne.
Together with rose, lavender, and melissa, it is one of the best essential oils to calm and stablize the Heart and Mind.
Because it is so expensive, our neroli is at 10%, diluted in jojoba oil. But like rose, it is very strong.
